The Gift of Rest

Image
If you tuned in last Sunday, you were invited to consider how the wisdom of this season invites us to slow down- to turn within. To rest and to re-evaluate. A link to the shared reading is here I also spoke to the noticeable tension many have been feeling between the urge to slow down, just when it feels like we finally got going again.  Yet, we are also becoming aware that we may not want to speed up to that unsustainable pace that has so many of us lost in the never-ending cycle of busy. The ‘great pause’ that we experienced has revealed more of how unhealthy and disconnecting that cycle really is. It disconnects us from our true selves, from each other and from the wisdom of our Mother Earth. The digital world continues to encroach more and more into our days and our ways. Many people are literally addicted to social media under the guise of connection. Like so many things in our modern world, social media was designed to capture its audience. The Wisdom of Fall

Have you noticed that a great many things don't feel the same for you – even though many of your 'normal activities' have resumed?   Or maybe it just seems to take a whole lot more energy to do the things you were used to doing with ease. Linda Martella- Whitsett.  In short, to express divine audacity is to live fully and completely from the awareness of our Divine essence and to let that awareness illumine every aspect of our life.  The first step in doing this is to acknowledge the presence of the One Light (God) as the source of all light and life.  We can then purposely welcome and admit the light to illumine our own Divine nature. Then we allow the Truth that we are individual expressions of that light to enlighten and expand us. This happens within our own awareness before we can truly make any outward attempt of asserting the light that we are in the world. Let’s consider the meaning of light in this context. “Light is symbolic of divine illumination, the divine light we are by virtue of our oneness with the Source. Describing God as the Source of light and acknowledging the light within us are resonant themes in reli
