Admit the Light

Last Sunday we began to consider the idea of Divine Audacity set forth in the book by Rev. Linda Martella- Whitsett.  In short, to express divine audacity is to live fully and completely from the awareness of our Divine essence and to let that awareness illumine every aspect of our life.

The first step in doing this is to acknowledge the presence of the One Light (God) as the source of all light and life.  We can then purposely welcome and admit the light to illumine our own Divine nature.
Then we allow the Truth that we are individual expressions of that light to enlighten and expand us. This happens within our own awareness before we can truly make any outward attempt of asserting the light that we are in the world.

Let’s consider the meaning of light in this context.

“Light is symbolic of divine illumination, the divine light we are by virtue of our oneness with the Source. Describing God as the Source of light and acknowledging the light within us are resonant themes in religious writings of every tradition in every age.” (Martella-Whitsett, 2015)

The Revealing Word offers this metaphysical meaning of light:

"The
understanding principle in mind. In divine order it always comes first into consciousnessLight is a symbol of wisdom. When Jesus said, "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12), He meant that He was the expresser of Truth in all its aspects." (Fillmore, 1959)

Jesus didn’t stop there.
He went on to tell all who would listen that they too, were the light of the world.

Before we can admit to being the ‘light of the world’ we must first personally welcome and admit the light of wisdom into our consciousness. Focus your thoughts on the illuminating power of your own capacity for spiritual understanding in prayer and meditation.
Purposely assert that light into the areas of your life most in need of illumination and invite your innate capacity of understanding to guide and grow you.

Join us Sunday at 10am as we continue our exploration into how
we can acknowledge, allow and admit the light.
